Social Networking Webinar
On April 30th, thedatabank sponsored a webinar on social networking for nonprofits, featuring our strategic consulting partner, Tom Lehman. Thank you to everyone who attended, the turnout was great. If you weren’t able to attend the webinar you can still obtain valuable information by viewing a recording of the presentation below. If you did attend, the recording is also a good refresher. Please contact us if you would like more information on doing a Social Network Append on your contact list. This append can tell you who is participating in social networks, how many friends they have, and which social networks are most popular among your constituents. NOTE: You do not have to be a Databank client to take advantage of this service.

Healthy Schools Campaign - The Healthy Schools Campaign, an independent nonprofit organization, is a leading authority on healthy school environments and a voice for people who care about our environment, our children, and education. According to Dorian Breuer, “We found thedatabank after an exhaustive review of the marketplace for web-based nonprofit software. At thedatabank’s price point, there is nothing in the market that combines reasonable cost with a fairly full-featured, mature and integrated data management system. We plan on using the Databank to integrate functions that we are currently using many different systems to accomplish.”
Family and Community Together - FACT is a statewide organization dedicated to empowering Oregon families experiencing disability. Developing parent leaders able to represent families at policy tables and working in coalition with our many FACT members, we envision a time in Oregon when people with disabilities or chronic health concerns, as well as their families, experience full equality of opportunity in all areas of their lives.
Centro - A cornerstone multi-service human services resource for Latino families, Centro works with community members of all ages—from newborns to elders—through 18 health and human service programs across seven departments: Education, Health & Wellness, Mental Health, Centro de Salud, Information Center, Cultural Events, and Youth Department. Centro’s mission is to “empower Latinos by minimizing barriers to self-sufficiency through coordinated services that provide a continuum."
Los Amigos - Los Amigos del Padre Juan is a not for profit organization founded in North Dakota that provides support for the mission work of Fr. Jack Davis in Chimbote, Peru. Due to Fr Jack's passionate plea to thousands all over the world and the resulting response, Los Amigos requires a database system that will allow it to track and correspond with the many who have answered the call. Databank's Volunteer Management Software Module will allow Los Amigos to keep in close contact with it's volunteers all over the United States to maintain consistent fundraising efforts. In addition, Los Amigos is very excited about the e-Marking Software Module to provide updates to the thousands who support the mission and who seek regular information through electronic means.

Get Out the Map
As summer begins, travel is on my mind.
I've been in all 50 states, and 22 foreign countries by my count...yet I have barely begun to explore my home state of Minnesota. Since I'm not adventurous enough to take a baby and a preschooler on a Boundary Waters canoe trip, we're going the other direction, to the Mississippi River bluffs in southern Minnesota.
I'm also planning a business trip to meet with our growing cohort of Chicago clients. If you're in the Chicago area, let's connect - I'd love to arrange a visit or get your recommendations for local dining.
I used my Databank to help prepare for the Chicago trip. I wanted to know if it was feasible to visit everyone within a short time period, whether we would need a car, and where to stay. So I plotted my contacts on a map, and there was my answer. I printed it out and paraded it around the office because I was so thrilled about the Databank's "Map Selection" feature.
I am also thrilled about our newest hire, Tony Hanson, who will be helping with technical support. While I'm on vacation, I have the peace of mind knowing knowledgable staff will be available to respond to clients.
